Our wedding was truly the best day of our lives – and Young Hip and Married was a huge part of that. We knew Stephen Anderson was the officiant for us immediately during our initial call when he expressed his passion for sharing couples love stories and understood our vision for a ceremony with emotion and also lots of laughter.

Without a doubt our custom ceremony was our favourite part of the day, and we still have our guests commenting on how it was theirs as well. We will forever treasure the beautiful ceremony Stephen wrote for us and cannot thank him enough for making our dream day a reality.

What's Included

Meet with your potential officiant over coffee or over video call to make sure it’s a good fit before any money is exchanged. There’s no pressure; we just want to make sure you like us.

Your wedding officiant will work with you (and even interview your friends and family!) to craft a completely custom ceremony that is personalized to you and what you want on your big day. (Apx 20-25 mins in length)

You’re in the driver’s seat. You can make as many edits to the ceremony as you want and you always have final say on any decisions.

Of course, your Young Hip & Married officiant is also going to show up on your wedding day to actually officiate the ceremony. They’ll even get there early so you have nothing to sweat about.

With our Custom & Creative Ceremony, you can have an unlimited guest count. Go ahead and give out those plus ones!

Our licensed officiants will inform you of the legal requirements of your wedding, sign your marriage licence and register it with the appropriate governing body so you can be officially and legally wed.

You’ll have continual phone and email contact with your Young Hip & Married officiant leading up to your wedding. You’ll also have access to our network of wedding professionals and resources.

For an additional fee, your wedding officiant will coordinate and run your wedding rehearsal so everyone is on the same page and ready to go come ceremony time.

Rhona Segarra was a joy to work with in officiating our multi cultural wedding blending two different traditions into a beautiful cohesive ceremony. She took the time to know us well, allowed us to co-write her part of the ceremony with her, projected heartfelt warmth and love, and brought many happy tears to the day. Sarah was warm, friendly, and so on top of everything from our first meeting with her, and we absolutely loved working with her!

She responded to any questions we had super quickly, kept us on track by scheduling meetings at mid-way points to go over the ceremony, and was so patient with our indecision on some elements. Sarah also came to our rehearsal in the rain and was still smiling and so positive, and helped make sure everything went smoothly.

The day of, the personalized vows she wrote were perfect – she paid so much attention to what we’d told her about ourselves and our values. We worked with Erika from YH&M for our wedding at Camp Fircom. Her energy was great, we really clicked, and she was open to doing the ceremony different ways if we wanted, which was really comforting and refreshing for us. Before our second meeting she sent us what she had been working on, it was amazing, truly brought tears to our eyes.

For the actual event, Erika was awesome. At the beginning of the ceremony, her presence commanded attention but not in an overbearing way at all. As soon as we were there, she made us the focal point without us feeling nervous at all. The words she spoke were just as good as when we read them for the first time. She was engaging, she had warmth, and she spoke with meaningfulness.

I would recommend YH&M and Erika to anyone, you’ll get a ceremony you’ll remember for all the right reasons!

The team at Young Hip & Married was so wonderful to work with. We were a bit last minute in choosing an officiant and they were very prompt in responding and so accommodating.

We chose Shawn as our officiant and he was so considerate and attentive to what we wanted. He was very professional, collaborative and mindful of what we wanted. We also had a small emergency on the day of our rehearsal and he was so kind while we sorted it out. Once we got the rehearsal going, he was so helpful and everyone knew exactly what they had to do on the day of.

We got married in Calgary, and Sarah Kemmers from YH+M was our officiant. We had the custom ceremony package, and Sarah was perfect! She really took the time to get to know us and our love story, spoke to our loved ones, and took that information to write a beautiful script with love and good humour that spoke to us perfectly.

One of us uses gender-neutral pronouns and she made us both feel comfortable and included the entire time. At the wedding, the guests loved her ceremony, and she was friendly, kind, and supportive. We would both give more stars if we could!
